Battle of Midway, Today

Like today in 1942, A major sea battle "The Battle of Midway" between USA and Japan's Naval ships. Approximately six months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

Japan at that time wanted a control on Greater East Asia.
USA wanted a Strategic power in the Pacific and the world.

Many people killed for these two aims.

Neither Japan nor USA achieved what they wanted.
But they both declared victory.

Today, Japan and USA are best friends and allies.

World War II, from 1939 to 1945 with 100 million military personnel mobilized was the most widespread war in history and involved most of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.

60 million people died in the war, including about 20 million soldiers and 40 million civilians.
Many civilians died because of disease, starvation, massacres, bombing and deliberate genocide.



The political result was more devastating:
The world was split into many powers who all agreed to end the war, but started secret wars against each others, and the famous cold war between USA and Soviet Union (Although they were the Allies)

The creation of the State of Israel on the land of Palestine, was the most direct result of this war.
Great Britain started the foundation, by ending the British Mandate on Palestine, dividing Palestine, a matter that helped in creating the Jewish State, which was declared officially 14 May 1948.
USA took over to keep and protect.

Israel then till now is the spoiled child of the West.

In less than a century, Israel and the West were involved in a deep conflict and many wars with the Arab States.

If we have to look at the consequences in a proportional manner, then may be we are very close to the above casualties of the World War 2 and still counting...
Not to forget casualties of... Disease, starvation, massacres, bombing and deliberate genocide.

On the other side, what changed.... I think not much

- USA still having the invasion strategy...which ends in pulling out.
- Soviet Union became Russia...and Comunism changed to same concept but with modernized methods.
- Japan moved to Technology instead of Military, however, like USA dreams of superiority, at least on China.
- China emerged as a silent super power... till now
- Europe, the old Continent became older and kaput, but more United against USA... it keeps trying to get young and strong again.
- Middle East... still a battle field.
- Religion is used again...
This times all religions are openly involved

The War seems to be still on... Different Tactics, Different Strategies...
Same Aims
Still with a Nuclear threat.
This time against Iran
